Barzani underlined that the Islamic Republic of Iran took some positive steps in an attempt to bring the Region's local groups together. He made the remarks on the sidelines of Munich Security Conference in Iran on Saturday.

Pointing to Iran's two-stage effective role in the resolution of regional crises, Barzani said, "during the first stage, when ISIL invaded Iraqi Kurdistan, Iran was the first country to help us out; later, during the political developments of Iraq, Iran's role has been a constructive role in destroying terrorist groups."

"Any development that takes place in the region and aims at cracking down on extremist and terrorists, is a positive action," KRG prime minister said, stressing that the process of developments in Syria cannot be military, but through a political one to solve issues.

"We welcome any steps to undermine the terrorists in the region," Barzani said, adding that four-sided Coalition is a constructive move if it addresses to suppress ISIL or any other terrorists in the region.
